Take pity on those living creatures
who crawl under foot and under boot,
have mercy,
they don’t know you intend to trample them
at certain moments in your unconsoled roughness. Look
with curiosity at their ignorance and narrowness
(do not call it the misery of narrow-mindedness!)--
try not to let them hear the news that you can crush them
with complete casualness.
